Bone loss around implant necks has traditionally been regarded as an indicator of implant success over the long term. Both surgical and prosthetic variables have been linked to premature marginal bone loss. Early marginal bone loss (MBL) >0.44 mm in the first six months following prosthetic loading is a risk indication for peri-implant bone loss development, according to new research on crystal-level implants. To determine the effect of crown height of dental implant on marginal bone loss. This is a retrospective study conducted using the patients' records. The sample size was 50 teeth. Patients' age, gender, and medical status were recorded as well as the implant's location, diameter, and type of opposing tooth, guided bone regeneration, crown height, implant length, crown-to-implant ratios, and type of platforms. Patients having had dental implants before 3 to 5 years at Riyadh Elm University (REU) hospitals and aged above 18 years old were included in this study. Pearson's correlation test findings between crown height and the follow-up MBL. It can be noted that Pearson's correlation value was .116, which indicates that there is a positive correlation between crown height and the follow-up MBL. However, this positive correlation was not statistically significant as the P-value was observed to be .422. There is no evidence of implant crown height affecting marginal bone loss.

Background: Screw-retained implant crowns are considered more biologically compatible than cemented crowns due to the absence of excess cement. However, traditional screw-retained implant crowns are not viable when the access hole of the screw channel would need to be located in an esthetic area, which would compromise the esthetic outcome of the treatment.Purpose: To evaluate the clinical, radiographic, and immunological outcomes of angulated screw-retained and cemented single-implant crowns in the esthetic region. Materials and methods:The study was a single-center, open-label, randomized controlled clinical trial. Eligible patients were randomly placed in two groups: angulated screw-retained group (AG) and cemented group (CG). Implant survival rate, bleeding on probing rate (BOP%), probing depth (PD), modified plaque index (mPI), marginal bone loss (MBL), concentrations of pro-inflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-6) in periimplant crevicular fluid (PICF), mechanical complications, and pink esthetic score/ white esthetic score (PES/WES) were evaluated.Results: Fifty-six patients (AG: 29, CG: 27) attended the 1-year examination.The drop-out rate was 6.67%. No implant failure was found in both groups during the observation period. BOP% was significantly lower in the AG than that in the CG (mean, 21.84% ± 19.97% vs. 37.04% ± 26.28%, p = 0.018). The concentration of TNF-α in PICF was significantly higher in the AG than that in the CG (median, 13.54 vs. 4.62, p = 0.019). No significant difference of PD, mPI, MBL, IL-6, or mechanical complication rates was found between the two groups.Mean scores for PES/WES were 21.71 and 21.64 in the AG and CG, respectively. Conclusion:Based on the present results, both treatment options showed acceptable clinical outcomes in the short term. Angulated screw-retained crowns might benefit the peri-implant soft tissue. Background: This study aimed to develop evidence-based clinical imaging guidelines to assess the proper implant location following implant surgery and identify potential complications during follow-up. Methods: The guideline development process employed an adaptation methodology in accordance with the Korean clinical imaging guidelines (K-CIG). Core (Ovid-Medline, Ovid-Embase, National Guideline Clearinghouse, and Guideline International Network) and domestic databases (KoreaMed, KMbase, and KoMGI) were searched used to retrieve guidelines, and two reviewers analyzed the retrieved articles. The articles were included in this review using well-established inclusion criteria. Results: Our online search identified 66 articles, of which 3 were selected for the development of the guidelines. Consequently, based on these three guidelines, we formulated distinct recommendations regarding the appropriate imaging modalities that should be used following implant placement. Conclusions: Conventional imaging (e.g., periapical or panoramic radiography) should be the first choice for assessing the implant following its placement and osseointegration. The metal artifacts in Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) should be considered. However, CBCT is recommended for patients with sensory abnormalities following dental implant surgery to evaluate and identify the underlying cause of implant complications and to determine the appropriate treatment.
