The Prognostic Value of Risk Score Based on Immunogenenomic Landscape Analysis in Glioma

Abstract: Background: Glioma is a lethal intracranial tumor, and inflammation plays an important role in the initiation and development of glioma. Hence, there is an urgent need to conduct a bioinformatics analysis of immune-related genes (IRGs) for glioma. The present study aims to explore the association of the risk score with clinical outcomes and predict the prognosis with glioma. Methods: In The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database, 462 low grade glioma (LGG) samples and 166 glioblastoma (GBM) samples were reviewed,… Show more

“…In recent years, a large number of studies have demonstrated that LGG tumor-immune response plays an important role in tumorigenesis and progression [12][13][14][15]. For example, we can see various degrees of infiltration of workers' lymphocytes in glioma specimens excised from wood, in addition, the immune infiltration status of hamster cell was correlated with the prognosis of LGG patients, moreover, the researchers now have glial pain resistant CD8 + lymphocytes in the peripheral blood of glioma patients, these evidences suggest that gliomas have some immunogenicity, and it is closely related to the prognosis of LGG.…”

“…In addition, prognostic immune signatures in glioma have previously been described [28][29][30]. For instance, Luo et al selected eight immune related genes that were differently expressed in glioma to build a prognosis prediction model that achieved a moderate prognostic accuracy (C-index = 0.827) [31]. The same study also constructed a robust immune-related signature consisting of 6 genes.…”
