This study explores the intergenerational transmission of fathering by addressing the associations between men's relationship with their father, their attachment to their children, self-assessment of themselves as fathers, and antisocial behavior. Subjects for this study were 87 men who were identified as fathers or father figures by women involved in two Early Head Start sites in Denver, Colorado. They were interviewed about their experiences when their child was between 2 and 3 years of age. The study found men who reported high antisocial behavior during their youth reported low assessment of themselves as fathers whereas men who reported a positive relationship with their fathers reported high assessments of themselves as fathers.RESUMEN: Este ensayo explora la transmisión intergeneracional de ser y actuar como padre por medio de estudiar las asociaciones entre las relaciones de los hombres con sus padres, su unión afectiva con sus hijos, su autoevaluación como padres y su conducta de alienación social. Fueron sujetos de este estudio 87 hombres identificados como padres o por lo menos como la figura del padre por mujeres participantes en dos programas de "Early Head Start" en Denver, Colorado. Los hombres fueron entrevistados acerca de sus experiencias cuando sus niños tenían entre dos y tres años. Este estudio determinó que los hombres que declararon un alto porcentaje de conducta de alienación social durante su juventud, reportaron bajas autoevaluaciones como padres, mientras que aquellos que declararon una relación afectiva positiva con sus padres reportaron altas autoevaluaciones de sí mismos como padres.RÉ SUMÉ : Cette étude explore la transmission transgénérationnelle du paternage en explorant les associations entre les relations des hommes avec leur père, leur attachement à leurs enfants, leur auto-évaluation en tant que père et leur comportement antisocial. Les sujets de cette étude étaient 87 hommes ayant été identifiés comme père ou figure de père par des femmes participant à un programme Early Head Start dans deux centres à Denver, dans le Colorado, aux Etats-Unis. Les pères ont été interviewés sur leurs expériences quand leur enfant avait entre deux et trois ans. Child sex abuse increasingly is recognised as a societal problem that can no longer be ignored. In this paper definitions, prevalence, trends, assessment, and available diagnostic procedures are described and critically evaluated. It is argued that the lack of reliable diagnostic procedures remains one of the main difficulties in dealing effectively with the detrimental effects of CSA on the child or adult. The research challenge to find effective alternative procedures is outlined.

Juvenile delinquency is a global phenomenon that affect children's developmental process and represent a significant concern for the society. Despite the fact that it is a global issue, its effects are felt more in developing countries such as Ghana due to inadequate resources available to rehabilitate them. However, the study explored the procedure used in admitting inmates into the juvenile detention facilities and challenges in rehabilitating them and recommended strategies based on findings to improve on the rehabilitation system. Using a quantitative research methodology, simple random and purposive samplings were used in selecting 94 respondents for the study at the senior correctional centre. Data obtained from the inmates was analyzed with SPSS and descriptive statistics with frequency distributions were employed to explain the data. The findings indicated challenges that affect both care takers and inmate at the centre regarding human resources, inadequate training period, facility to house inmate and the proper procedure for admission into the correctional facility. These challenges showed that, there are gaps in the rehabilitation process which mission is to make delinquent children valuable members of the society after they are released. Rather many juvenile delinquents stand high risk of becoming criminals in their adulthood.
