Abstract: Background: The interaction of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) with vascular risk factors is known as syndrome Z which is also known as the metabolic syndrome or the insulin resistance syndrome and these include the hypertension, central obesity, insulin resistance and hyperlipidaemia.
