The supply chain performance of countries has a significant impact on the overall performance of countries. These indices primarily emphasized countries' standings, rankings, and improvement areas. Clustering countries based on a single index does not always yield the desired results. Using cluster analysis may help get critical information when many indicators are evaluated. The supply chain-connected indicators were chosen to be included in the research initially. In this study, three global indices were selected. We chose the Logistics Performance Index(LPI) to evaluate the logistics industry, which is essential in supply chain management. Logistics is one of the critical areas that affect and have also been affected by many fundamental indicators used to evaluate a country's performance. One critical indicator that globally measures the processes is the Logistics Performance Index. We included Environmental Performance Index(EPI) in the study to evaluate environmental policies that impact supply chain operations. The final index used in the study is the Global Competitiveness Index(GCI), which examines the competitiveness of countries with a heavy dependence on supply chain management performance. It is one of the crucial indications in evaluating a country's productivity. We used clustering analysis based on supply chain management-related indicators in the following phase. K-Means clustering algorithm was applied to the extracted data set. Python code is written to implement the K-Means clustering algorithm. In the final part of the study, differences between clusters and submitted research proposals ideas were discussed. This research proposes a three-step methodological framework for mining supply chain indicators derived from the LPI, GCI, and EPI indicators. The research aims to conclude from the analyses of the change in centers based on indicators, the variation based on datasets between clusters, and the grouping of countries based on any combination of the LPI, GCI, and EPI indicators .

The aim of this study was to evaluate the genetic structure and potential loss of diversity within three horse breeds: Lipizzan (42), Furioso (38), and Nonius (18) on molecular-genetic level. The genotyping data were obtained from in total 98 individuals presenting the genepool of analysed breeds in Slovakia. The values of gene diversity (0.72) as well as heterozygosity (0.89) showed the prevalence of heterozygotes within each population. The negative value of F IS index (-0.25) pointed, in particular, to good level of diversity and balanced proportion of homozygous and heterozygous animals in populations, i.e. HWE equilibrium. The Shannon's information index (I=1.41) confirmed sufficient level of variability mainly in order to maintain the current state of biodiversity for future generation. The genetic distances on intra-and inter-population level revealed clearly distribution of individuals into the three separate genetic clusters. The highest genetic similarity was found between Nonius and Furioso breeds (DA=0.16). However, the pairwise F ST values and PCA analysis were not fully sensitive to detect the genetic differences among those breeds. We were able to detect only two genetic clusters, when Furioso and Nonius were linked together. This can be explained mainly by the use of English Thoroughbreds stallions and mares in building up process of both breeds. Considering that the results related to the state of diversity in presented breeds are correct, they can be used as basis for the further progress in breeding programs which is necessary to prevent the loss of heterozygosity and increase of inbreeding.

A Novel Composite Index to Measure Environmental Benefits in Urban Land Use Optimization Problems

In urban land use optimization problems, different conflicting objectives are applied. One of the most significant goals in urban land use optimization problems is to maximize environmental benefits. To quantify environmental benefits in land use optimization, many researchers have employed a variety of methodologies. According to previous studies, there is no standard approach for calculating environmental benefits in urban land use allocation problems. Against this background, this study aims to (a) identify indicators of environmental benefits and (b) propose a novel composite index to measure environmental benefits in urban land use optimization problems. This study identified four indicators as a measure of environmental benefits based on a literature assessment and expert opinion. These are spatial compactness, land surface temperature, carbon storage, and ecosystem service value. In this work, we proposed a novel composite environmental benefits index (EBI) to quantify environmental benefits in urban land use allocation problems using an ordered weighted averaging (OWA) method. The study results showed that land surface temperature (LST) is the most influential indicator of environmental benefit while carbon storage is the least important factor. Finally, the proposed method was applied in Rajshahi city in Bangladesh. This study identified that, in an average-risk decision, most of the land (64.55%) of the study area falls within the low-environmental-benefit zone due to a lack of vegetated land cover. The result suggests the potential of using EBI in the land use allocation problem to ensure environmental benefits.
