The plastid genome of an oil plants Cinnamomum chago (Lauraceae)

Abstract: Cinnamomum chago B.S. Sun & H.L. Zhao is an economically important wild woody oil plant of the genus Cinnamomum Trew belonging the family Lauraceae. To better determine its phylogenetic location with respect to the other Cinnamomum species, the complete plastid genome of C. chago was sequenced. The whole plastome is 152,753 bp in length, consisting of a pair of inverted repeat (IR) regions of 20,074 bp, one large single-copy (LSC) region of 93,722 bp, and one small single-copy (SSC) region of 18,883 bp. The ov… Show more

“…The whole plastid genome was sequenced following Yang et al (2014), and their 11 universal primer pairs were used to perform longrange PCR for next-generation sequencing. The contigs were aligned using the publicly available plastid genome of Cinnamomum chago (Accession Number: LAU00078) (Chen et al 2019) and annotated in Geneious 4.8.…”

“…To reconstruct the phylogenetic tree of C. aromaticum, we included 19 plastid genomes in previous publications and unpublished data in GenBank (Figure 1) (Song 2016;Wu et al 2016;Chen et al 2017Chen et al , 2019Song et al 2017;Zeng et al 2018). We aligned the data matrix using MAFFT v.1.3.7 (Katoh and Standley 2013) with default parameters.…”
