The phylum Synergistetes in gingivitis and necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis

Abstract: The clinical manifestation of necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis (NUG) is distinct from that of common gingivitis in that it is characterized by local necrosis of the gingival tissues, rapid onset, pain and extensive bleeding.
