The perceived usability of the learning management system during the COVID-19 pandemic: Integrating system usability scale, technology acceptance model, and task-technology fit

Abstract: BACKGROUND: The education system has shifted from traditional to online during the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, the Learning Management System (LMS) is one of the most important and comprehensive learning platforms that support and facilitate online learning during this pandemic. OBJECTIVE: This study explored the perceived system usability of LMS during the COVID-19 pandemic by utilizing Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Task-technology Fit (TTF), and System Usability Scale (SUS). METHODS: An online survey was u… Show more

“…Thus, a system that is designed to minimize difficulty and increase performance will be perceived as useful. In other fields such as e-government, PU and PEOU were positively related to continuing intention (Hamid et al, 2016) and usability of LMS during the COVID-19 pandemic (Chuenyindee et al, 2022). Hence, we can conclude that online LMSs that are easy to use will positively influence the perceptions of their usefulness in fulfilling tasks and objectives.…”

“…Participants also completed the System Usability Scale (SUS), 18 consisting of 10 items implementing a 5-point Likert scale (5 = strongly agree and 1 = strongly disagree). Generated SUS scores can range from 1 to 100; higher scores indicate better usability, with 68 as the average 19 . The SUS has been widely used in information systems research, particularly in evaluating interactive systems 18…”

“…(2021a) IU3 I would always install the AirVisual mobile application on my mobile phone when I change my mobile phone in the future. ( Chuenyindee et al., 2022 ); ( Ong et al., 2022 ) IU4 I plan to use the AirVisual mobile application for checking air quality index when I see the weather is different (presence of fog). Perceived Usability PU1 I found the AirVisual mobile application very comfortable to use.…”
