“…Reflection starts with a perceived problem, followed by gathering information about, all of which leads to a plan for action (Boud et al, 1985;Dewey, 1933;Loughran, 1996;Luttenberg et al, 2018;Madin & Swanto, 2019;McKernan, 2013;Mezirow, 1991;Rogers, 2001;Simmons et al, 2021). The journey is uncomfortable since it requires deep analysis and self-confrontation (Pham et al, 2020;Rigg & Trehan, 2008;Sayers, 2005) as it also requires one's being aware of one's own beliefs, values and attitudes (Karagöz & Rüzgar, 2020). My students' struggle and sometimes unmotivated states were understandable in the sense that neither they were aware of theirs nor did they have a long time engaging in reflective thinking as I did, which also created another challenge for my task as a teacher educator.…”
