The problem of defining the load (nominal torque on the output shaft - T2N) of universal gear drives depending on the size of the gear ratio is analysed in this paper. It is logical that the load capacity of gear drive depends on the weakest gear component. Since the gears are the most expensive components of gear unit, it tends to maximize their performance. However, for low gear ratio, i.e. for high speeds, the bearings often limit their load capacity since the same bearings are used in all transmission ratios because it is not practiced to oversize the bearings at low speeds. Nowadays, when high values of gear ratio are used, it is interesting to consider the dependence of the nominal torque at the output regarding to gear ratio and operating life of the unit.

Kod najodgovornijih zavrtanjskih veza (posebno kod onih sa velikim prednaprezanjem) veoma je važno da se tačno definiše potrebna sila pritezanja Fp koja ne sme biti manja od minimalne potrebne sile Fpmin, niti veća od maksimalne dozvoljene sile Fpmax. Ako bi bilo Fp< Fpmin postojala bi realna opasnost od razdvajanja spojenih delova, a u suprotnom slučaju ako je Fp > Fmax moglo bi doći do plastičnih deformacija i time do trajnih oštećenja elemenata zavrtanjske veze.Zato je potrebno silu pritezanja što preciznije definisati (propisati), a potom je u praksi na odgovarajući način meriti i kontrolisati pri ostvarivanju zavrtanjske veze.U radu je izložena originalna laboratorijsko-eksperimentalna metoda za merenje sila i dilatacija zavrtnja prilikom pritezanja, zasnovana na primeni specijalnog hidrostatičkog klipnog uređaja, kao i kratak opis i princip rada uređaja. Uređaj je realizovan na Visokoj tehničkoj mašinskoj školi strukovnih studija u Trsteniku i isti se može koristiti kako za laboratorijske vežbe u tehničkim školama i na fakultetima, tako i u industriji za proveru mehaničkih svojstava zavrtnjeva pre njihove ugradnje, kao i za razne eksperimente u istraživačkim laboratorijama i na institutima.

The selection of a rubber compound has a determining influence on the final characteristics of rubber-metal springs. Therefore, the correct selection of a rubber compound is a key factor for development of rubber-metal vibration isolation springs with required characteristics. The procedure for the selection of the rubber compound for vibration isolation of rubber-metal springs has been proposed, so that the rubber-metal elements have the necessary characteristics, especially in terms of deflection. The procedure is based on numerical simulation of spring deflection with Bergström-Boyce constitutive model in virtual experiment, with a goal to determine which parameters of the constitutive model will lead to spring required deflection. The procedure was verified by case study defined to select rubber compound for a rubber–metal spring used in railway engineering.
