In the rat, the time for one synaptic transmission from a Ia afferent to a motoneuron is about 2 ms (Kaizawa and Takahashi, 1970;Meinck, 1976). Therefore, the time of conduction from the S1 to the L6 segment would be ∼0.1 ms assuming a conduction velocity of 60 m/s, values corresponding to the conduction velocity of Ia afferents.…”
