The Mechanical Properties of Different Soil Moisture Content of Silt Study Based on the Experimental

Abstract: Constitutive relation of soil is the core issue to study on soil’s mechanics characteristics. The stress-strain curve to silt belongs to intenerate type under low confining pressure and low moisture content, then silt features brittle failure; but it belongs to sclerotic type under high confining pressure and high moisture content, then silt features plastic failure. The conclusion of the article had some value for engineering’s design and calculation.

“…In engineering construction in karst development areas, all types of karst engineering geological problems are encountered, such as reservoir and dam karst leakage, karst dam foundation and slope problems. The karst sanding of dolomite decreases the strength of rock mass, reduces the quality of rock mass and significantly affects the stability of slopes and underground chambers as unfavorable geological boundaries [1][2][3]. Therefore, the study of various properties under the dissolution conditions of dolomite is extremely important, and Wiederhorn et al [4] have studied the influence of pH on glass crack propagation as early as 1973.…”
