“…Male or female adult patients (age, 18–65 years; body weight, >60 kg; body mass index [BMI], <35 kg m −2 ) with a ≥3‐month history of moderate‐to‐severe GERD reflux symptoms (as defined by heartburn or acid regurgitation on more than 2 days per week and/or nocturnal reflux and/or postprandial reflux) were enrolled. Each patient was required to have uncomplicated reflux esophagitis (Los Angeles classification A or B) or a pathological esophageal pH (pH <4 for ≥9% of the time over 24 hours) within 24 months prior to enrollment.
