| Infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) is the causative agent of an acute and highly contagious disease affecting the respiratory, renal and/or reproductive systems of chicken called infectious bronchitis disease. Controlling of this disease needs continuous identification of the circulating strains and genotypes. In the present study, six IBV samples were isolated from different poultry farms located in northern Egypt and propagated in the allantoic cavity of specific pathogen-free embryonated chicken eggs causing curling and dwarfing of embryos at different serial egg passages. The harvested allantoic fluids were titrated by chicken embryo kidney cell cultures selecting suitable viral concentrations for investigating the ciliostasis effect of IBV on tracheal organ cell cultures. In addition, the nucleotide and protein sequences of the IBV spike glycoprotein (S) were used for molecular relationship analysing and construction of phylogenetic trees. All examined viruses induced complete ciliostasis at the fifth day post inoculation. Isolates shared total sequence identities of 99-100% on nucleotide and amino acid levels. The Egyptian strain (Eg/CLEVB-1/IBV/012) showed 99% and the Israeli strain (IS/1494/06 IBV) showed 98% with the collected isolates and recognized as the local strains with the highest total sequence identities and phylogenetic relatedness of all strains available from the Gene Bank. The Italy02 strain of IBV is the nearest relative to the collected isolates with total sequence identities of 79 and 77% at nucleotide and amino acid levels, respectively. The new variant strains currently isolated from the northern of Northern Egypt should be evaluated periodically for developing suitable autogenously based virus vaccines.

RESUMO:A bronquite infecciosa das galinhas (BIG) é uma doença infecciosa causada pelo coronavírus aviário (vírus da bronquite infecciosa -VBI) que está amplamente disseminada entre as criações avícolas comerciais na maior parte do mundo. Esse vírus apresenta alta capacidade de variabilidade genética, o que se traduz pelo aparecimento de alterações marcantes na composição, estrutura e propriedades antigênicas e biológicas de suas proteínas. Diante disso, este trabalho tem por objetivo realizar uma revisão bibliográfica sobre os novos genótipos, tipos antigênicos e de patotipos do VBI que foram isolados nas últimas décadas no Brasil, abordando principalmente a imunogenicidade dessas estirpes do VBI. Assim, essa revisão destaca que com o aparecimento de variantes antigênicas e biológicas entre as estirpes do VBI nos últimos anos, ocorreu o surgimento de diferentes genótipos, sorotipos e patotipos deste vírus o que resultou em um aumento nas falhas vacinais contra esta doença e a necessidade de serem desenvolvidas novas preparações vacinais que proporcionem tanto respostas mediadas por anticorpos como por células T, especialmente no compartimento das mucosas e que resultem em um estado de proteção mais efetivo contra as variantes brasileiras do VBI. IBV has a high genetic variability, which is reflected by the appearance of marked changes in the composition, structure and antigenic and biological properties of its proteins. Therefore, the objective of this work is to carry out a bibliographical review on the new genotypes, antigenic types and IBV pathotype that have been isolated in the last decades in Brazil, mainly addressing their immunogenicity profiles. With the appearance of antigenic and biological variants among IBV strains in the last years, different genotypes, serotypes and pathophyses of this virus occurred, which resulted in an increase in vaccine failures against this disease and the need to develop new vaccine preparations which provide both antibody and T cell mediated responses, especially in the mucosal compartment, and which result in a more effective protection status against Brazilian VBI variants.

Zakaźne zapalenie oskrzeli (Infectious bronchitis -IB) jest wirusową, wysoce zaraźliwą chorobą kur. Wirus zakaźnego zapalenia oskrzeli (IBV), który jest przedstawicielem rodziny Coronaviridae (materiał genetyczny stanowi jednoniciowy RNA), należy do wirusów ptasich, często zmieniających swoje właściwości genotypowe, antygenowe, tropizm tkankowy, patogenność, a przez to formę samej choroby. W zależności od tropizmu tkankowego oraz potencjału terenowych szczepów IBV do wywoływania zmian anatomopatologicznych w różnych narządach wewnętrznych makroorganizmu do dnia dzisiejszego wyróżnić można kilka postaci IB, takich jak: oddechowa, nerkowa, rozrodcza, mięśniowa czy pokarmowa (4,10,14,28,29,34,35). Główny mechanizm zmienności IBV polega na mutacjach w obrębie genu kodującego zewnątrzo-toczkowy glikopolipeptyd S1, które doprowadzają do zmiany jego struktury antygenowej. Biorąc pod uwagę fakt, że podjednostka S1 IBV jest odpowiedzialna za tropizm tkankowy wirusa oraz stymulację swoistych mechanizmów immunologicznych, wyżej wymienione zjawiska wpływają na obserwowane często przypadki przełamywania odporności poszczepiennej, w stadach kur o różnej użytkowości, przez terenowe szczepy IBV (34). Stowarzyszenie do spraw zdrowia zwierząt w USA (United States Animal Health Association) umieściło IB na 5. miejscu wśród chorób przynoszących największe straty w przemyśle drobiarskim w 2014 r.Niniejsze opracowanie ma na celu przedstawienie reakcji immunologicznych zachodzących w przebiegu zakaźnego zapalenia oskrzeli kur ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem mechanizmów lokalnej odporności górnych dróg oddechowych (GDO). Natomiast po informacje dotyczące historycznej oraz obecnej sytuacji epidemiologicznej, jak również mechanizmów zmienności IBV oraz perspektyw immunoprofilaktyki swoistej IB odsyłamy czytelnika do artykułów przeglą-dowych, skupiających się na wybranej problematyce tej jednostki chorobowej (1,8,18,19,34,36). Odporność ogólnoustrojowaWykazano, że w przebiegu zakażenia oraz po szczepieniu przeciwko IB dochodzi do stymulacji komór-kowej i humoralnej odporności ogólnoustrojowej oraz lokalnej w GDO.IBV charakteryzują się wysoką immunogennością, czego wyrazem między innymi jest stymulacja produkcji swoistych przeciwciał, które w surowicy mogą
