This study investigated what are the verbal cues provided in futsal contexts of teaching-learning, training, and official matches, and what are their attentional foci. A cue refers is a short instruction that constrains the students/athletes to direct their attention to critical elements for successful performance. 1543 instructional cues were collected from Physical Education (PE) classes, futsal training sessions and futsal matches of an official championship. Data were analysed based on content analysis method and categorized through the Systematic Analysis of Pedagogical Content Interventions. Inferential analyses were run by the Trend Module (Trend Analysis and Multiple Comparisons) of PEPI software. The results showed that the category offensive technique (passing) was the one with the highest number of instructions in the classes, training and matches. It was also observed that rules and violations were similar between curricular classes and futsal training sessions. The findings allowed to verify (i) the primary cues physical education teachers and coaches provided, (ii) about which critical aspects they referred to and (iii) their specificity regarding the context specificity (classes, training and matches). The findings provide useful insights into the design of instructional tasks as the instructional cues allow students/athletes to gain knowledge about the learning task and to direct their attention to critical elements for successful performance.

Motor learning is a central focus of several disciplines including kinesiology, neuroscience and rehabilitation. However, given the different traditions of these fields, this interdisciplinarity can be a challenge when trying to interpret evidence and claims from motor learning experiments. To address this issue, we offer a set of ten guidelines for designing motor learning experiments starting from task selection to data analysis, primarily from the viewpoint of running lab-based experiments. The guidelines are not intended to serve as rigid rules, but instead to raise awareness about key issues in motor learning. We believe that addressing these issues can increase the robustness of work in the field and its relevance to the real-world.

This study aims to determine the influence and effectiveness of small-sided game exercises on the increase in VO 2 max and passing accuracy. This research was carried out at the Borneo Indoor Futsal Banjarmasin field from June to July. The treatment was given 15 times with a frequency of 3 times a week. One group pretest-posttest is used as a design in this study. The population recruited by the researchers was futsal players at SMAN 1 Banjarmasin. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were used for a sample of 16 individuals. This study utilized a multistage fitness test with a validity of 0.408 and reliability of 0.875 to measure VO 2 max and a lowball passing test with a test validity of 0.710 and reliability of 0.703 to determine passing accuracy. SPSS is utilized for data analysis procedures, including normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing. Normality and homogeneity data from this investigation also indicated that distribution is normal and homogeneous (sig. > 0.05). The results of hypothesis testing show a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, which concludes that small-sided games practice affects the increase of VO 2 max and the passing accuracy of futsal players at SMAN 1 Banjarmasin. In addition, this study also showed that small-sided game exercises effectively increase VO 2 max with a percentage increase of 9.35%. Meanwhile, the percentage increase in passing accuracy was 41%. Based on these findings, the small-sided games exercise program is an effective game-based exercise program for increasing VO 2 max and passing accuracy for futsal players.
