The Integration of Naqli Knowledge of Science Courses in Institutions of Higher Learning Foundation Centres: Study on Tamhidi Centre, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia

Abstract: Naqli knowledge refers to knowledge sourced from the Quran and sunah from the prophet p.u.h. since there are many verses from the Quran and hadiths which give insights to modern scientific field. “…Tamhidi is derives from one of Arabic word which means 'preparation' such as the term 'Matriculation in the Ministry of Education and International Islamic Universiti Malaysia, 'Foundation' in Universiti Malaya, 'Foundation Year' in University Teknologi Malaysia or similar to pre-university programme (STPM, HSC or A' Level). Thus, Tamhidi programme is equivalent to 'foundation' programme run by universities that have been listed (Ibrahim, 2016).
