Samosir has a wide area and several tourist attractions, making it difficult for visitors to explore the island. Not knowing the route can make the journey less fun and waste time. In general, tourists seek to know the fastest path to a tourist location to save time and money while on vacation. As a result, we require an application that will offer directions to the shortest path. This research aims to develop a web-based application that may display a map of the shortest travel to a tourist site. This website will display a map that marks from the origin point to the destination point. The Branch and Bound algorithm is used to determine the shortest path. The Python libraries OSMnx, Folium, and NetworkX modify paths and show a route map with OpenStreetMap. The error value of the distance between the branch, bound algorithm, and Google Maps is used to get the RMSE accuracy value. The RMSE value is 3.02 and MAPE value is 0.0023 indicating that the application produced already has a good implementation prototype. Furthermore, there is no significant distinction between the appearance of maps implementing OpenStreetMap and Google Maps

This paper attempts to identify the factors that influence foreign tourists to choose accommodations in Mas Village – an artistic heritage village in Ubud, Bali. As the accommodations are in the village, tourists’ motive in choosing accommodation may be different from accommodations in the big cities. The research took place in Mas Village, considering this village has been experiencing a big spike in the growth of tourists accommodation, while based on the data of 2012 until 2017 – the 87 percents of the tourists who visit this village are foreign tourists. It is known that Mas Village is one of villages in Bali fundamentally identified as an artistic countryside by focusing in artistic of wood carving since 1930s. Primary data is collected from the foreign tourists as respondents who stay in accommodations in Mas Village during June 2019, then the data is analysed using Factor analysis. The result of the factor analysis shows that location emerges as the key factor that influences tourists in choosing accommodation among three others factors. Additionally, an interesting finding from the study is how local touch and security form as one factor. By understanding the influence factors, those accommodations in Mas Village will be able to develop marketing strategies that appeal to this segment of tourists and create meaningful points of differences. However, as this research is focusing in foreign tourists, the future studies concerning how domestic tourists choose their accommodation in Mas Village is highly expected, in order to compare with foreign tourists’ perspective in this research.

Abstract:The Municipality of Mentawai Islands is the only regency in West Sumatra Province in a form of islands which has different regional characteristics with other cities and regencies in the province. It consists of a small and large group of 99 islands surrounded by the Indian Ocean. The distance between the Municipality of Mentawai Islands and the provincial capital of Padang is about 62 nautical miles. Sea and air transports become main transportation. However, sea transport is often used rather than air transport. The only route of air transport is from Rokot to Padang and otherwise using small plane (Susi Air). Based on the results of the research, the transportation costs to experience the significant resources of Mentawai Islands with its natural scenery and underwater beauty is expensive due to the inadequate of transportation accessibility.
