The Influence of Specimen Thickness on the Lüders Effect of a 5456 Al-Based Alloy: Experimental Observations

Abstract: Abstract:For the first time ever, a thickness dependence of the Lüders effect in an Al-based alloy is demonstrated. A three-dimensional digital image correlation method was used to gain insight into the Lüders band velocity and the Lüders strain.
