This study aims to determine the mathematical representation ability of class IX students with visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles on the Pythagoras Theorem material at SMPN 1 (public junior high school) Gunungsari Indonesia in the 2021/2022 academic year. This type of research is descriptive with a quantitative approach. The populations in this study were all students of class IX SMPN 1 Gunungsari. The research sampling technique used purposive sampling, and the sample was class IX-H. The instruments used are learning style questionnaires, mathematical representation ability tests, and interview guidelines. The results of this study indicate that the mathematical representation ability of students with visual learning styles is 35.56% in the low category, or students have yet to be able to meet the overall visual, symbolic, and verbal representation indicators. Furthermore, the mathematical representation ability of students with auditory and kinesthetic learning styles is 49.86% and 41.87% in the medium category. Respectively, students have been able to meet the indicators of visual and symbolic representation quite well but have yet to be able to fulfill the visual and symbolic representation and verbal representation indicators.

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang belajar dengan model discovery learning dan model direct instruction, perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang memiliki gaya belajar konvergen dan siswa yang memiliki gaya belajar divergen, dan pengaruh interaksi model pembelajaran dan gaya belajar terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan rancangan pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII di SMP Nasional Denpasar pada tahun ajaran 2021/2022 yang terdari atas 7 kelas dengan sampel penelitian sebanyak 4 kelas. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuisioner gaya belajar dan tes hasil belajar yang diberikan kepada dua kelompok (eksperimen dan kontrol). Data dianalisis secara deskriptif dan ANAKOVA dua jalur. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan taraf signifikansi 5%, dan sebelum uji hipotesis dilakukan uji asumsi, yaitu uji normalitas, homogenitas, dan linearitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang belajar dengan model discovery learning dan model direct instruction, terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar antara siswa yang memiliki gaya belajar konvergen dan divergen, serta tidak terdapat pengaruh interaksi model pembelajaran dan gaya belajar terhadap hasil belajar siswa.

This study aimed to analyze the relationship between scientific literacy and students' critical thinking skills in biology science material in junior high schools. The research used a quantitative correlation method. The subjects in this study were the students in the eighth grade of junior high school SMPN 9 Buton consisted of 68 people. The research instrument was in the form of multiple choice questions to measure scientific literacy skills and essay questions to measure students' critical thinking skills. The research data obtained were then analyzed with descriptive and inferential statistics through the product-moment correlation test. Results of descriptive statistics show that literacy science and student critical thinking there in four criteria excellent, good, enough, and low. The inferential statistic analysis results show that the significance value of the correlation between scientific literacy and critical thinking skills is 0.001 less than the alpha value of 0.05. Based on the results can be concluded there is a positive and significant correlation between scientific literacy and students' critical thinking skills in the circulatory system material.
