BACKGROUND: Fertility is contributed to the high birth rate, mortality, and migration. One effort to control the birth rate is through the family planning program, using contraceptives by couples of childbearing age. The family planning program regulates the distance between mothers’ pregnancies, prevents early or late age pregnancies, has quality reproductive health, and reduces maternal mortality. AIM: This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the balanced family planning counseling strategy (BFP-CS) educational model on changes in postpartum contraception behavior in pregnant women. METHODS: The research used a quasi-experiment design with a non-randomized pre-test and post-test design, with a control group design. The study consisted of one intervention group (Talise Public Health) and one control group (Singgani Public Health), Palu city, with a purposive sampling technique of 43 respondents per group. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate. RESULTS: The results showed that there was a significant improvement in knowledge (p = 0.00), attitude (p = 0.00), intention (p = 0.00), and the use of postpartum contraceptives (p = 0.00) before and after treatment. A significant difference was revealed between intervention and control groups on knowledge (p = 0.036), attitude (p = 0.01), intention (p = 0.00), and the use of postpartum contraceptives (p = 0.00). CONCLUSIONS: Implementing the educational model of the BFP-CS could be an effective solution to improve knowledge, attitudes, intentions, and the use of postpartum contraceptives compared to the usual counseling method.

Stagnansi dari peningkatan pelayanan KB diatas disebabkan belum optimalnya konseling sebagai sarana komunikasi informasi dan edukasi (KIE) pelayanan keluarga berencana. Ada 2 strategi konseling yaitu konseling dengan ABPK (Alat Bantu Pengambilan Keputusan) dan SKB-KB (Strategi konseling berimbang Keluarga Berencana). Dilihat sekilas dari angka cakupan tahun 2018 – 2019 bahwa SKB-KB lebih besar persentasenya dibandingkan konseling ABPK.. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan konseling KB menggunakan alat bantu pengambilan keputusan (ABPK) dan strategi konseling berimbang keluarga berencana (SKB-KB) terhadap cakupan akseptor KB di UPTD Puskesmas Patimuan Kabupaten Cilacap. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan komparatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Gambaran cakupan akseptor KB di UPTD Puskesmas Patimuan Kabupaten Cilacap yang menggunakan konseling ABPK dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 47.83, nilai median sebesar 44 dan modus sebesar 44 dan gambaran cakupan akseptor KB di UPTD Puskesmas Patimuan Kabupaten Cilacap yang menggunakan konseling SKB-KB dengan nilai rata-rata sebesar 59.58, nilai median sebesar 62.5 dan modus sebesar 40. dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan antara ABPK dan SKB-KB terhadap cakupan akseptor KB di UPTD Puskesmas Patimuan Kabupaten Cilacap.

Background: Age influences pregnancy and childbirth. Pregnant women aged less than 20 years old or pregnant adolescents are not physically and mentally ready to cope with pregnancy or childbirth. The husband's support highly determines the health status of the mother. This research aimed to determine the relationship between husband support and the behavior of pregnant adolescents to face pregnancy during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Gombong District, Kebumen Regency. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional approach. The population was all pregnant women aged less than 20 years in the Gombong District, Kebumen Regency. It used a saturated sampling technique involving 256 people. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis to answer the percentage and the Chi-Square test to answer the research hypothesis. Results: The study showed that 130 (50.8%) husbands did not support the mothers, and 126 (49.2%) husbands supported the mothers. The result also showed that 116 (45.3%) of the pregnant women showed positive behavior, while140 (54.7%) pregnant women showed negative behavior. The chi-square test found a p-value of 0.005, which proved a significant relationship between the husband's support and the behavior of pregnant adolescents to overcome pregnancy during the covid-19 pandemic. Conclusion: Pregnant teenagers with husband support will prepare for pregnancy and childbirth programs more maturely to ensure the safety of both mother and fetus.
