The teacher education management system is crucial to the operation of the teacher education system (TES). It is the core institutional system of the TES, which stipulates the management authority and functional scope of the relevant departments of the TES. After the new pluralistic and open TES is formed, the original management system must be adjusted accordingly. In this context, this article integrates public mental health (PMH) into the diversified and open management system of TES and then uses a neural network to evaluate and complete the following tasks: (1) this article introduces the development status of diversified and open TES management systems at home and abroad and the importance of public psychology courses to teacher education. (2) The framework of TES integrating PMH is proposed, and then the principles of BPNN and gray wolf optimization (GWO) algorithm are introduced, and the IGWO-BPNN model is constructed accordingly. (3) The convergence and fitness of the IGWO-BP model and the GWO-BP model are compared through experiments, which proves the superiority of the performance of the IGWO-BP model. The optimal model is constructed by selecting parameters, and then the output of the model is compared with the expert evaluation results, and the error is small. It is proved that the model has superior performance in evaluating the professional quality of teacher education. (4) This article selects three professional quality evaluation indicators of teacher education to compare the changes before and after the integration of PMH. The results show that the proposed diversified and open management system of TES integrating PMH can effectively improve the professional quality of teachers in all aspects.

Chemistry education has been affected in various aspects, especially teaching models, teaching technology, curriculum design, and teaching assessment, in Chinese Mainland since COVID-19 struck. To explore the change in teaching performance and differences in those teaching performances between middle school teachers and university teachers, this study analyzes 46 chemical education journal articles in three academic levels, including Junior High School (JHS), Senior High School (SHS), and university through content analysis method. The result shows that all levels of chemistry teachers (CTs) prefer to adopt two teaching models (live teaching or a combination of live and recorded teaching) and use Tencent Meeting as a teaching platform, but, university chemistry professors can integrate some software (MOOC and WeiXin as well as QQ) into their class to improve the effectiveness of teaching. As for curriculum design and teaching assessment, university teachers can employ the news in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic to carry out teaching more deeply than middle school teachers because university students learn more professional chemistry knowledge, but, all of them tend to evaluate students promptly (like oral assessment) through classroom interaction. Thus, it suggests the government and the school develop educational applications/software and teaching resources and a diverse curriculum to enhance online teaching work both domestically and foreign. And, it is also suggested that teachers should actively participate in the training of educational technology and strengthen cooperation with teachers in other disciplines to build interdisciplinary classrooms.

The global outbreak of COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) gave rise to a sudden shift to the online education delivery system from the conventional in-person teaching method. Though instructions were moved to a virtual learning platform, it was a critical challenge to provide hands-on training to teach complex engineering software. This article discusses the experience of teaching blended online delivery mechanisms (synchronous and asynchronous) of two AspenONE process simulators, that is, Aspen Plus and Aspen Hysys, which were the part of a chemical engineering sophomore course: CHE 2033 − Introduction to Chemical Process Engineering. The course materials and instruction methodology were prepared through prerecorded videos, organizing individual virtual/ in-person conferences to assist students with the tedious software installation procedure, making them acquainted with the software, and assisting with homework problems. A self-assessment of students about the teaching methodology was done through an online survey. From the survey results, it was observed that approximately 88% of the enrolled students seemed to be satisfied with the course content, instructional approach, and learning outcomes. However, they highlighted working on more complex chemical engineering problems through homework or term projects. The key findings of this study are valuable while developing courses or laboratories that utilize complex engineering software or various process simulators.
