The Impact of Renewable Energy Use on Green Growth: The Case of Emerging Economies

Abstract: In this study, the effect of renewable energy use on green growth is investigated for 11 emerging economies with a growth rate higher than the world average annual green growth, per capita GDP, and per capita renewable energy use growth rate in 1990-2019. For this purpose, the variables of financial development, economic integration, use of renewable energy, and green growth were used annually in the 1990-2019 period. CCEMG and AMG panel estimators were used as a method. The findings showed that the increase i… Show more

“…The current study conducts the traditional EG and the newly established RALS-EG cointegration test to determine the long-term cointegrating connection between the factors under examination. The RALS-EG cointegration test provides more robust results than conventional cointegration tests (Pierdzioch et al, 2015;Emir & Karlilar, 2022;Naimoğlu, 2022). The outcomes of the EG and RALS-EG cointegration tests are reported in Table 3.…”

“…Lastly, the RALS-EG approach provides better results using second and third classical cointegration residual moments to form new terms (Doğanlar et al, 2021;Kadir et al, 2023). Consequently, the RALS-EG approach has been widely used in recent empirical research due to its ability to generate robust estimates (Pierdzioch et al, 2015;Emir & Karlilar, 2022;Naimoğlu, 2022;Ali et al, 2023;Kadir et al, 2023).…”
