The shift of learning activities from face-to-face classroom interaction to online learning beyond the classroom due to the global pandemic has caused technological anxiety in teaching and learning. This study analyzed strategies to overcome learning challenges in the COVID-19 pandemic with user-friendly platforms. This study was in the State Institute of Islamic Studies (IAIN) Surakarta, Indonesia, involving 469 lecturers who taught 983 classes as the respondents. The required data were collected using a web-based questionnaire using Google Forms. The data were analyzed descriptively in percentages and elaborated using focus group discussion. The data analysis showed that most teachers used WhatsApp group to overcome learning obstacles during the COVID-19 pandemic. Among the considerations are the lack of information technology infrastructure, the lack of e-learning platforms, the lack of time to adapt, and the difficulty of internet access in some regions. This study contributes to the strategy performed by the lecturers to deal with these challenges is selecting a user-friendly and affordable platform for learning.

There was a significant change in the educational process during the covid 19 pandemic. These changes had an impact on all aspects of education, including the operation of teaching student character. This study aims to reveal teacher readiness in terms of pedagogic and personality competencies, learning strategies, and challenges faced in the implementation of character education during the pandemic. This research is included in the category of qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The main subjects of the study were fifteen people who were religious teachers in public and private high schools in Indonesia. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with interview guide instruments that had been prepared and designed based on theoretical analysis. The data analysis technique uses the stages of data classification, data presentation, and data interpretation. The results of the study indicate that in terms of pedagogical competence and personality, teachers already have clear standards. Based on sufficient work experience, development in the form of continuous training, as well as an educator certificate held in the pedagogical aspect. In addition, the environment can provide an influence as well as a learning context. Meanwhile, from personal competence, most teachers have a vital role in society as religious and community leaders. Another finding is that the character education model carried out by the teacher is divided into three, namely experiential learning, inquiry, and collaboration. The challenges that arise in the implementation of character education are the limitations in facilities, support, and motivation of parents at home and the ability of students to participate in learning.

<span lang="EN-US">Virtual learning environment (VLE) has been introduced in educational institutions such as schools, colleges, and universities to encourage a systematic online teaching and learning platform. This paper aims to examine the effect of social factors, self-efficacy, and technological support on the utilization of VLE in the educational process. A quantitative approach was employed and the data was collected through a set of questionnaires administered to selected respondents. A total of 356 accounting teachers from secondary schools in Peninsular Malaysia were chosen as the samples. A reflective measurement model in partial least square-structural equation modeling was utilized to measure the effect of the exogenous latent variable on the endogenous latent variable. Results indicated that social factors namely (colleagues, administrators, and school culture) significantly affect the use of VLE among teachers. Further, self-efficacy and technological support namely (facilities quality, internet access, and technical support) positively influence teachers to apply VLE during teaching. The quality of technological facilities in schools needs to be developed to promote effective educational processes and motivate teachers to use digital technology. Further, it is strongly suggested that teachers need to be given appropriate training and ongoing support to develop their skills in using digital technology.</span>
