The IgM and IgA Immune Response to the TNP Determinant Group in BALB/c Mice

Abstract: These studies document certain features of the splenic IgA plaque-forming cell response and the serum IgA antibody content in BALB/c mice following immunization with TNP-BγG. Differences in the magnitude and temporal sequence of the indirect (IgA) and direct (IgM) plaque-forming cell responses have been documented. Following booster immunization, there was a shorter latent period and higher peak level of cells secreting IgA anti-TNP antibodies suggesting an anamnestic response.
