The Hittorf Transference Numbers of Sodium and Ammonium Acetates in Anhydrous Acetic Acid

Abstract: The 2-methyl ether was methylated with dimethyl sulfate, giving the sodium salt of the 6-sulfonic acid of hydroxyhydroquinone trimethyl ether. The compound was analyzed as the sulfonyl chloride which melts at 98°a nd is soluble in acetone, chloroform and glacial acetic acid.
