We discuss a possible new resonance in active-sterile neutrino oscillations arising in theories with large extra dimensions. Fluctuations in the brane effectively increase the path-length of active neutrinos relative to the path-length of sterile neutrinos through the extra-dimensional bulk. Well below the resonance, the standard oscillation formulas apply. Well above the resonance, active-sterile oscillations are suppressed. We show that a resonance energy in the range of 30−400 MeV allows an explanation of all neutrino oscillation data, including LSND data, in a consistent four-neutrino model.A high resonance energy implies an enhanced signal in MiniBooNE. A low resonance energy implies a distorted energy spectrum in LSND, and an enhanced ν µ depletion from a stopped-pion source. The numerical value of the resonance energy may be related back to the geometric aspects of the brane world. Some astrophysical and cosmological consequences of the brane-bulk resonance are briefly sketched.

We report on an improved measurement of the 2νββ half-life of 136 Xe performed by EXO-200. The use of a large and homogeneous time projection chamber allows for the precise estimate of the fiducial mass used for the measurement, resulting in a small systematic uncertainty. We also discuss in detail the data analysis methods used for double-beta decay searches with EXO-200, while emphasizing those directly related to the present measurement. The 136 Xe 2νββ half-life is found to be T 2νββ 1/2 = 2.165 ± 0.016(stat) ± 0.059(sys) · 10 21 years. This is the most precisely measured half-life of any 2νββ decay to date.

This review is focused on neutrino mixing and neutrino oscillations in the light of the recent experimental developments. After discussing possible types of neutrino mixing for Dirac and Majorana neutrinos and considering in detail the phenomenology of neutrino oscillations in vacuum and matter, we review all existing evidence and indications in favour of neutrino oscillations that have been obtained in the atmospheric, solar and LSND experiments. We present the results of the analyses of the neutrino oscillation data in the framework of mixing of three and four massive neutrinos and investigate possibilities to test the different neutrino mass and mixing schemes obtained in this way. We also discuss briefly future neutrino oscillation experiments.
