“…Diabetes mellitus occurs as an autoimmune response against BP antigens, which is transformed by the glycosylation of proteins at the dermo-epidermal junction in pemphigoid patients (18). In the literature it is reported that the frequency of autoimmune thyroid disease varies between 0% and 16% in pemphigus patients (6,25), but in a study conducted by Uzun et al it was found that thyroid pathologies were the most common comorbidities in pemphigus patients (3).
