(p. 156) The book by White (1984); books by Jones (1972Jones ( , 1980, Ryan (1976), and Staples (1982); an article by Jackson (1977), and articles in journals such as the Journal of Multicultural Counseling and Development (formerly the Journal of Non-White Concerns in Personnel and Guidance), the Journal of Black Psychology, the Journal of Negro Education, and the Journal of Black Studies are minimum regular readings for those who wish to be effective or to increase their effectiveness in delivering services to Black men. Although the above journals do not always specifically deal with Black men, they do treat, in a broad sense, many of the critical issues that are relevant to Black men.…”
