The population health is an important component of the country development, since the working capacity and workers' safety in the workplace depends on their health status. Toxic substances that are used the manufacturing process often cause allergies, inflammatory processes of the skin and internal organs, sometimes diabetes and cancer. To strengthen immunity and improve the health of workers, traditional Chinese medicine, which has achieved great success at present, can be recommended. The aim of this manuscript is review of health benefits and pharmaceutical impacts of Chinese honey locust and shallot. Literature search was conducted in Medline, Research Gate, Scopus, PubMed and Google Scholar Databases. The keywords were Chinese honeylocust, shallot, traditional Chinese medicine, Asian medicine and modern pharmaceutical Sciences. Gleditsia sinensis Lam. (G. sinensis) is a perennial arbour spread in most parts of the world, especially in China. It is a classical traditional Chinese medical herb. All relevant papers in the English language of researchers from different countries were collected. The most important benefits of shallots are high source of antioxidants, improve heart health, cancer prevention, and diabetes, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, might help fight obesity, and help to prevent or treat allergies. The most important components of Gleditsia sinensis are triterpenoid saponins, triterpenes, flavonoids, alkaloids, phenolics, sterols, and their important derivatives are responsible for tremendous medicinal effects. It has been reported that Gleditsia sinensis Lam thorn (GST) possesses a wide spectrum of pharmacological activities such as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-angiogenic and anti-tumor effects. Its fruit is antibacterial, antifungal, antitussive, astringent, emetic, expectorant, haemostatic and stimulant. The seed is emetic, expectorant, decongestant and purgative, and its root bark is both anthelmintic and antifebrile. The obtained findings suggest potential of Shallot and Chinese honey locust in both food and pharmaceutical industries. The demand for shallot products is increasing every year with increase population growth and food industries. More clinical studies may necessary to uncover the numerous substances and their effects in shallot that contribute to public health.

Anise, or Pimpinella anisum , has a long history of usage in traditional and alternative medicine, as well as in the pharmaceutical sector . The species is native to Southwest Asia, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean region. The current studies have revealed that wild and cultivated P. anisum are rich in bioactive compounds, such as phenols, tannins, carotenoids, and fatty acids. Different parts of P. anisum plant are used treatment of diseases, the treatment of pathogens for antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal purposes, and cosmetics. In this paper, we reviewed the current knowledge on geographical distribution, cultivation, chemical compounds, extraction methods, and agronomic and medicinal uses of Pimpinella anisum . Equally, we suggested guidelines for future research to fill the gap in less investigated issues. Data for this paper was gathered via electronic literature search on Google, Google Scholar, and databases counting, Science Direct, Scopus, Springer, PubMed, and Hindawi, from 1930 to 2022. Analyzed data show that Pimpinella anisum is currently recorded from Portugal on the Atlantic Ocean in the west to China in the East. With new extraction methods, such as Ultrasound-Assisted Extraction, scientists have explored the higher quantities of polyphenols, flavonoids, and antioxidants, and revealed new constituents such as trans-anethole and estragole found in essential oil fruits by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC–MS). These compounds showed significant therapeutic benefits against diseases, pathogens, and cosmetic roles. However, with the current impacts of climate change on natural vegetation cover, more investigations are needed to understand how these affect the geographical distribution, metabolic aspects, and chemical properties of Pimpinella anisum. These are suggested to increase the value of the species and ensure its conservation.

Pyrethrum is a perennial daisy grown commercially for the insecticide that is extracted from its flowers. In order to evaluate germination and seedling growth of pyrethrum under different temperature and drought stress treatments, the one year experiment was conducted in seed technology laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture of Islamic Azad University of Isfahan branch in 2018. During this experiment, polyethylene glycol (PEG) at 6 levels (0, -0.2, -0.4, -0.6, -0.8, -1.0 MP) and two temperature treatments (10 o C and 15 o C) were used. Two separate factorial trials, on the basis of absolute randomized design with three replications were used. Drought stress impact on germination percentage, mean time germination, shoot and root length, abnormal germination, germination uniformity, plumule dry and fresh weight, root dry and fresh weight and seed stamina index was significant (P≤0.01). The influence of temperature on germination percentage, mean time germination, shoot and root length, plumule dry weight, plumule fresh weight, root dry weight and root fresh weight was significant (P≤0.05).The rate of germination, germination percentage, as well as seedling growth and establishment were significantly lowered with the rise of stress levels using PEG. Control treatment and 15 o C had obtained the highest germination percentage, mean time germination, shoot and root length, germination uniformity, plumule dry and fresh weight, root dry and fresh weight, and seed stamina index. Taking all traits into account, a clear understanding of the germination responses of seeds is useful in screening for tolerance of species to extreme temperatures.
