The effects of microwave radiation from mobile telephones on humans and animals

Abstract: This article presents a brief review of current mobile telecommunications systems, which represent a source of microwave pollution of the environment. It has been shown that the biological effects of radiation from cellular telephones involve the time factor for the real effects on the body. Results of studies of the biological effects of low-intensity modulated microwave irradiation, including that from cellular telephones, lead to the conclusion that irradiation does not have pathological effects on the body… Show more

“…While molecular mechanisms are unknown, the obtained data have clearly shown that MW from mobile phones, similar to moderate hyperthermia, can significantly inhibit DNA repair in human lymphocytes. Disruption of the balance between cellular repair systems and DNA damage may be of significant importance in the genotoxic effects of GSM/UMTS mobile communication including genomic instability and cancer [Galeev, 2000].…”

“…The widespread use of many electrical and electronic communication devices, such as mobile phones, computers, radio, television and even greater use of microwaves in advanced navigation has engendered in electromagnetic interference (EMI) . This EMI pollution disturbs the performance of neighboring electronic devices by coupling the incoming signal and also has adverse effect on human health .…”

“…(Tri, et al 2005;), (Kaur, Kakar, and Mandal 2011). Tidak hanya berdampak bagi perangkat elektronik di sekitarnya, emisi elektromagnetik juga dapat memberikan dampak bagi tubuh manusia, hewan, atau satwa dan dapat menimbulkan pencemaran elektromagnetik (Balmori 2009;Galeev 2000). Setiap tahun angka pengguna telepon seluler (handphone) dan laptop (wireless device) semakin tinggi dan meningkat (Wallin, Marve, and Hakansson 2005).…”
