The effects of meldonium on microrheological abnormalities of erythrocytes in rats with obesity : An experimental study

Abstract: Background: The microrheological disorders of red blood cells in obesity is often missed by the researchers. This study aimed to report an experimental investigation on laboratory animals with developed obesity and to find out the effect of meldonium on the erythrocytes. Methods: A total of 95 healthy male-rats of Vistar line were taken into the investigation, 29 animals had experienced no impacts and allocated as the control group, while 64 rats which had developed obesity induced by a cardioangionefopathogeni… Show more

“…Hematological parameters are now considered important markers of the status of a living organism [12]. In view of their serious biological significance, to maintain homeostasis, it is necessary to continue their detailed study in different species of productive animals throughout ontogeny [13].…”

“…The ongoing scientific research is increasingly aimed at studying in detail the main stages of the implementation of aging and the processes of formation of age-related pathology with a deep consideration of the mechanisms of gerontogenesis on various models (Klebanov et al, 2019). Modern researchers attach particular importance to monitoring various parameters of blood cells (Kulikov et al, 2020) and especially the most numerous group -erythrocytes (Zavalishina et al, 2018) in different conditions of the body (Zavalishina et al, 2019) and of course in the course of aging (Vakhtin, 2009). The significance of these studies is that aging affects the state of all cells in the body, as a rule, leading to a weakening of their work, with the occurrence of dysfunctions, and sometimes pathological processes.…”

“…Their influence provides a number of changes in the body, some of which have a positive effect, and some of which have a clearly negative effect. These effects have been monitored in humans [4], in productive animals [5] and in non-productive living organisms [6], as well as in different cell populations [7].…”
