“…A decrease in the number of secretory granules, nuclear shrinkage and pycnosis, swelling of mitochondria and endoplasmic reticulum, roundshaped mitochondria, hypertrophied cytoplasmic organelles such as golgi and endoplasmic reticulum have been reported in the β cells of STZ-induced diabetic rats. 47,48) Our results are also inline with the previous report.…”

“…There are also studies about diabetes causes histological alterations in different tissues (Degirmenci et al 2005;Arnal et al 2010;Shanmugam et al 2011). In STZ-treated control rats the serum urea, uric acid, creatinine levels and kidney MDA contents, histopathological results significantly increased; kidney antioxidant enzyme activities significantly reduced.…”

“…In the STZ-induced diabetes, MDA levels increase Apaydın et al 2016 ). Also, antioxidant defence system is significantly altered (Degirmenci et al 2005). In the long term, diabetes leads to complications in lots of organ systems.…”

“…Our histology results shows enormous liver tissue damage in the Paracetamol treated group which was also found to be reduced in groups that were administered with stem bark extracts of Ficus exasperata. (Degirmenchi et al 2002). The increase in aminotransferases levels may be due to the cellular damage in the liver caused by Paracetamol induced hepatotoxicity.…”
