This study aimed to analyze the causal model of career education program participation, satisfaction, and career goal setting mediated by work values in higher education. Also, this study analyzed the differences between departments. In this study, data from the 2018 Graduate Occupational Mobility Survey (GOMS), the most recent data, was used. The Graduates Occupational Mobility Survey is the largest short-term panel survey of a representative sample of Korean Graduates. The GOMS is conducted annually and has its results compiled each year. Structural equation modeling and multiple SEM were used for this study. The results were as follows. First, career education program participation had a statistically significant positive effect on extrinsic and intrinsic work values and career goal setting. Second, career education program satisfaction had a statistically significant positive effect on intrinsic work values and career goal setting, except for extrinsic work value. In addition, only the intrinsic work values positively affected career goal setting. Third, the career education program satisfaction impacted intrinsic work values, and the intrinsic work value impact on career goal setting was the difference between department and majors. In conclusion, this study proposed the provision of career education programs considering the difference between departments and majors in higher education.

Career concerns are often mentioned by clients seeking not only career counselling, but also mental health counselling. Typically, these career concerns fall into 2 main categories: career decision making and job-search needs. Technology, in the form of websites, social media, and applications, has expanded the resources available to today';s counsellors. We explored multiple technological tools that might accompany each step of the career decision-making process, organized through the lens of cognitive information processing theory, as well as the job-search process. Regardless of the professional identity or primary focus of counselling services provided by the counsellor, having knowledge of careercounselling websites, tools and strategies such as those presented in this paper will ensure that clients are equipped with the tools necessary to address their career concerns.

Abordagens às intervenções de carreira: perspectiva históricaA expressão «intervenções de carreira», tal como é utilizada ao longo deste capítulo, obedece à definição apresentada por Spokane (1990): «qualquer apoio directo a um indivíduo no sentido de promover uma tomada de decisão mais eficaz, o aconselhamento intensivo para ajudar a resolver dificuldades no âmbito da carreira» (p. 22). No que respeita os contextos e as tecnologias de desenvolvimento e implementação das intervenções de carreira -sejam estas referidas como aconselhamento para a carreira, educação para a carreira, orientação para a carreira, serviços de carreira ou qualquer outro rótulo -o século xx ficará conhecido como o mais produtivo da história. Esta asserção não significa que as intervenções de carreira não existiam antes de 1900. Existiam. De facto, há registos interessantes (e.g., Dumont & Carson, 1995; Williamson, 1965) sobre as origens das intervenções de carreira em tempos remotos que demonstram a forma como diferentes sociedades praticavam a ajuda às pessoas, no que respeita as questões do trabalho ou, mais precisamente, o modo como se colocava as pessoas num trabalho em função da sua condição social ou casta, ou objectivos políticos.Todavia, com o devido respeito pela história, as teorias e técnicas que compreendem as abordagens contemporâneas das intervenções de carreira são, na Europa, América do Norte e, mais recentemente, na Ásia, África e América do Sul, essencialmente, manifestações do século xx. O conhecimento no qual assentam as intervenções de carreira do século xx começou a ganhar forma nos finais do século xix; a sua implementação nos serviços directos com adolescentes e adultos começou a ser visível nas últimas duas décadas do século xix e, principalmente, nas primeiras décadas do século xx.
