The Marketers and residents of tourist places are facing tourism promotion-related challenges. The trends of digital marketing are stimulating traditional marketers for tourism promotion. Recently, the trend of digital media influencers has been getting considerable attention among marketing academicians and practitioners. However, this study aims to determine the role of modern digital marketing tools for green tourism promotion of foreign tourism in Pakistan. Consequently, 450 questionnaires for data collection were distributed among foreign tourists visiting different tourist destinations. The Partial Least Square (PLS) software was used to analyze the data, and the threshold for significant variables was (P<0.05). The study points out the critical role of modern digital marketing tools, i.e. YouTube marketing and social media influencers, in promoting green tourism through tourism v-logging in Pakistan. The practical implications of this study would enhance the experiences of marketers for green tourism promotion in Pakistan. Moreover, the current research fills the literature gap in the digital marketing domain by thoroughly discussing emerging digital marketing tools.

Student Perceptions of the Fairness of Video Presentation Grading in the Online EFL Classroom

This qualitative case study, which employed thematic analysis, explores student perceptions about the fairness of grading video presentations in an online EFL Korean classroom. The study surveyed 145 students about their attitudes towards the fairness of grading for video presentations using three open-ended questions. To better understand the students’ thoughts, they were asked what most affected the fairness of grading live versus video presentations. It found that students believed that the use of video presentations in the required classroom was fair. The students cited a clear, understandable rubric, hard work resulting in the deserved grade, the best material could be submitted, the video could demonstrate ability without nerves, and the teachers’ grading as reasons the grading was deemed fair. There were also some negative perceptions related to the fairness of grading. The two registered were using cheats and not having a fair playing field in terms of technology. The study also found that the main factors affecting video versus live presentations were the fear of live presentations, preparation time, technology use, and the teachers’ grading. The results from the survey indicated that student-produced video presentations should be considered in the future.

Engaging in reflective practice via vlogs: Experience of Malaysian ESL pre-service teachers

Reflective practice serves as a vital area of teacher education and the impetus for professional development among pre-service teachers. Past research has lamented the lack of critical thought of the reflection made by pre-service teachers during their teaching practice. This paper presents a qualitative investigation into the use of video logs (vlogs), which are mediated online. The participants of the study comprised 13 pre-service ESL teachers studying in an Institute of Teacher Education. The data for this study was gathered via the analysis of the vlogs and the focus group interview. Results indicate that the respondents expressed mixed reactions to the approach, where some have enjoyed the experience while some feared of being judged and feeling awkward seeing themselves in vlogs. Most respondents have centered their reflections on issues they encountered during lessons, but one has shown the ability to reflect on issues beyond the classroom setting. The outcome of the study implied the need for pre-service teachers to be given additional coaching on the ‘how’ aspect of reflection. In addition, there is a need to address technical issues faced by respondents in using vlogs, as this can impede the reflecting experience and frequency of vlogs and comments posted by the participants.
