Recently problems in science education during the Covid-19 pandemic era are focusing on how to engage students in the online science classroom. There is a lack of exploration in learning experiences that engage students in virtual, thought-provoking problems, working with peers, and applying their 21 st -century skills as problem solver to real-world problems. One of the biggest challenges for secondary schools is that few guidelines or models exist regarding teaching science to engage students in the online classroom. Having this in mind, this study provided a systematic and analytical strategy in mapping out and offering a critical review of the integration of local wisdom of online science learning. Overall, this study recognized the gains that can be made from utilizing local wisdom in education, especially in the global quest of teaching 21st-century skills, and had recommended using local wisdom in instructional design. This paper also suggested a need to pursue further studies on developing a local wisdom framework for students easily master science learning media and how these could motivate and excite students and themselves in the teaching and learning process of the online science classroom.

Cultural and character issues are problems that must be resolved through education, namely the learning process. Learning today is a shift from traditional learning to online-based learning. These problems can be solved by making innovations in online learning, one of which is by integrating local wisdom and character education. This study aims to determine the integration of local wisdom and character education in online learning-based biology learning. The samples in this study consisted of 20 biology teachers from 20 high schools in West Aceh and Nagan Raya districts. The instruments used were interviews and observation sheets. The data analysis used was qualitative data analysis which consisted of three stages, namely (1) data reduction, (2) data presentation, and (3) concluding. The results showed that the biology teacher in the research sample had integrated local wisdom and character values through assignments, material explanations, and teacher behavior. Biology teachers do not fully understand the understanding of local wisdom and character education so that teachers are still hesitant in making decisions to integrate local wisdom and character values in learning. Arah pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran sains saat ini masih belum banyak mengakomodir pembentukan karakter peserta didik SD/MI. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kebutuhan pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran sains di SD/MI. penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan diskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik kuesioner, observasi, dan wawancara dengan melibatkan 63 guru SD/MI sebagai responden. Penelitian ini menghasilkan tiga temuan penting. Pertama, 57,1% guru menyiapkan perangkat pembelajaran sains. Kedua, 79.0% guru mengintegrasikan aspek-aspek karakteristik. Ketiga, 58,7% guru menyatakan pembelajaran berbasis masalah memberi konstribusi dalam pendidikan karakter. Untuk itu perlu dikembangkannya perangkat pembelajaran sains terintegrasi pendidikan karakter untuk mendukung kegiatan belajar mengajar (KBM) di SD/MI.
