The effect of protease on growth performance, nutrient digestibility, and expression of growth-related genes and amino acid transporters in broilers

Abstract: During the course of this trial, our team assessed the influence of protease upon the growth performance, the nutrient digestibility, and the expression of growth-related genes and amino acid transporters within the liver, muscle, and small intestines of broilers. During the first step, our team allocated 600 broilers into four dietary treatments for a period of 35 days in order to measure the growth performance and nutrient digestibility of the broilers selected. The separate treatments contained 10 replicate… Show more

“…Besides, we found that UA promoted the expression of amino acid transporters (B 0 AT1, ASCT2, EAAT2, EAAT3). It is certain that there is a positive correlation between the increased expression of amino acid transporter and the growth performance (Zhang Y. L. et al, 2019;Park et al, 2020). However, there were few reports on the effect of UA on amino acid transporters so far and the underlying mechanisms should be further explored.…”

“…The benefits of the dietary supplementation of protease on growth performance are ascribed to increased CP digestibility [45][46][47][48], and they may be attributed to changes in intestinal morphology [38,49], reductions in the impact of antinutrients including trypsin inhibitors [50][51][52], and shifts in the microbiome [20,21]. The specific mode of action of dietary protease supplementation on intestinal morphology has not been well understood.…”

“…Additionally, Myoblasts play a crucial role in skeletal muscle formation during broiler growth. Myogenic differentiation1 (MYOD1) and myogenin (MYOG) are important components of myogenic regulatory factors (MRFs) which dominate myoblast differentiation [ 9 ]. Saxena’s study showed that energy and protein significantly affect the expression of growth-related genes [ 10 ].…”
