“…Rhenium diboride (ReB 2 ) was synthesized for the first time in 1962, its crystalline structure is hexagonal with a = 0.2900 nm and c = 0.7478 nm, with 2 ReB 2 units per unit cell . Recently, ReB 2 has been classified as a superhard and incompressible material because it has hardness (20‐60 GPa), bulk modulus (173‐371 GPa), Young modulus (382‐712 GPa), and incompressibility along the c axis (00l planes), therefore, it has been proposed as material to be used in cutting and grinding tools. As was mentioned previously, the ReB 2 has superhard and incompressibility properties, but only 2 publications have reported its chemical properties.…”
