Background Recent health care developments include connected health interventions to improve chronic disease management and/or promote actions reducing aggravating risk factors for conditions such as cardiovascular diseases. Adherence is one of the main challenges for ensuring the correct use of connected health interventions over time. Objective This scoping review deals with the connected health interventions used in interventional studies, describing the ways in which these interventions and their functions effectively help patients to deal with cardiovascular risk factors over time, in their own environments. The objective is to acquire knowledge and highlight current trends in this field, which is currently both productive and immature. Methods A structured literature review was constructed from Medline-indexed journals in PubMed. We established inclusion criteria relating to three dimensions (cardiovascular risk factors, connected health interventions, and level of adherence). Our initial search yielded 98 articles; 78 were retained after screening on the basis of title and abstract, 49 articles underwent full-text screening, and 24 were finally retained for the analysis, according to preestablished inclusion criteria. We excluded studies of invasive interventions and studies not dealing with digital health. We extracted a description of the connected health interventions from data for the population or end users. Results We performed a synthetic analysis of outcomes, based on the distribution of bibliometrics, and identified several connected health interventions and main characteristics affecting adherence. Our analysis focused on three types of user action: to read, to do, and to connect. Finally, we extracted current trends in characteristics: connect, adherence, and influence. Conclusion Connected health interventions for prevention are unlikely to affect outcomes significantly unless other characteristics and user preferences are considered. Future studies should aim to determine which connected health design combinations are the most effective for supporting long-term changes in behavior and for preventing cardiovascular disease risks.

Atualmente, o WhatsApp é o aplicativo mais baixado do mundo, sendo caracterizado por ser um mensageiro gratuito e um meio de comunicação rápido e ágil. O objetivo da presente pesquisa foi analisar a relevância do aplicativo WhatsApp no âmbito da saúde, por meio de revisão sistemática de literatura. Foram utilizadas as recomendações metodológicas da declaração PRISMA. A base de dados utilizada foi a PubMed. De 88 artigos identificados, foram incluídos 64 estudos que se enquadravam nos critérios de inclusão, destes, 25 artigos tinham objetivo informativo, 24 utilizaram o aplicativo para práticas internas em saúde, 16 para tratamento médico, 14 para práticas educacionais, 13 utilizavam como grupos sociais e 7 trabalhavam com intervenções de saúde à distância. Com este estudo, foi possível concluir que o WhatsApp é uma ferramenta em constate desenvolvimento e crescente importância na área da saúde. WHATSAPP AN EMERGING TOOL FOR THE PROMOTION OF HEALTH ABSTRACT WhatsApp is currently the most downloaded application in the world, being characterized by being a free messenger and fast and agile communication medium. The objective of the present research was to analyze the relevance of the WhatsApp application in health, through a systematic literature review. The methodological recommendations of the PRISMA statement were used. The database used was PubMed. Of the 88 articles identified, 64 studies were included that fit the inclusion criteria. Of these, 25 articles were informative, 24 used the application for internal health practices, 16 for medical treatment, 14 for educational practices, 13 used as groups and 7 worked with distance health interventions. With this study, it was possible to conclude that the WhatsApp is a tool in constant development and increasing importance in the health area.

Hemodialysis is a kidney replacement therapy for clients with chronic renal failure. Hemodialysis therapy helps the client's survival, but on the other hand the client will experience various problems including psychosocial problems, which ultimately affect the client's quality of life. Self Help Group is a social support therapy and the Mobile Messaging Apps (WhatsApp) application can be used in Self Help Group. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of implementing a combination of Self Help Group and the use of Mobile Messaging Apps on the quality of life of clients with chronic kidney failure. The research design was quasy experiment with pre and post test design with control group, the sampling technique was simple random sampling. The research sample consisted of 42 people, consisting of 21 respondents in the control group and 21 in the intervention group. The test results showed the effect of implementing a combination of Self Help Group and the use of Mobile Messaging Apps on the quality of life of clients with p value < 0.05. It is recommended that Self Help Group and the use of WhatsApp be implemented as part of nursing interventions in nursing care. Terapi hemodialisa membantu kelangsungan hidup klien, namun di sisi lain klien akan mengalami berbagai masalah termasuk masalah psikososial, yang pada akhirnya mempengaruhi kualitas hidup klien. Self Help Group adalah salah satu terapi dukungan sosial dan aplikasi Mobile Messaging Apps (WhatsApp) aplikasi yang dapat digunakan dalam Self Help Group. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan kombinasi Self Help Group dan penggunaan Mobile Messaging Apps terhadap kualitas hidup klien gagal ginjal kronik. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu quasy experiment dengan rancangan pre and post test with control group, teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu simple random sampling. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 42 orang terdiri dari 21 responden kelompok kontrol dan 21 kelompok intervensi. Hasil uji menunjukkan adanya pengaruh penerapan kombinasi Self Help Group dan penggunaan Mobile Messaging Apps terhadap kualitas hidup klien dengan p value < 0,05. Direkomendasikan Self Help Group dan penggunaan WhatsApp diterapkan sebagai bagian intervensi keperawatan dalam asuhan keperawatan. Kata kunci: mobile messaging apps; kualitas hidup; self help group
