The Effect of Incremental Innovation and Disruptive Innovation on the Sustainable Development of Manufacturing in China

Abstract: Innovation is an important driver for the promotion of manufacturing, and governmental intervention could significantly affect the development of innovation and manufacturing in China. The purpose of this article was to reveal different modes of innovation regarding the development of manufacturing in China. A theoretical model was used to analyze the effects of incremental innovation and disruptive innovation on the sustainable development of the manufacturing industry from the aspect of the industry’s abilit… Show more

“…Chen D. et al [ 38 ] found that industrial development leads to more carbon dioxide emissions but also reduces the intensity of industrial carbon dioxide emissions. (3) Some scholars have studied innovation ability [ 39 ]. For example, Wang L. et al [ 40 ] found that the development of high-tech industries in cities attracts more highly skilled workers and promotes their better development.…”

“…Compared to that in the developing region, disruptive innovation might own larger impact on the manufacturing enterprise in the developed region (Li & Huang, 2019). The manufacturing enterprise in the developed region might achieve rapid promotion of the capability when implement disruptive innovation by comparison that in the developing region carrying incremental innovation, which would induce larger contribution to the value of the manufacturing, and this might demonstrate that the coefficient of elasticity of innovation in the developed region might be larger than that in the developing region, which implied that δ should be larger than α .…”

“…Previous studies of the link between IT and EP indicated mixed results, some positive performance [52][53][54][55][56][57][58], some negative, and some suggesting no relationship at all [59,60]. According to Rajapathirana and Hui [61], the type of innovation espoused can aid in the improvement of an enterprise's competitiveness with the definitive aim of increasing enterprise value.…”
