The Effect of GD1a Ganglioside-Expressing Bacterial Strains on Murine Norovirus Infectivity

Abstract: In this study, we investigated the impact of GD1a-expressing bacterial strains on the infectivity of murine norovirus (MNV). Eligible bacterial strains were screened from a sewage sample using flow cytometry, and their genetic sequences of 16S rRNA were determined. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was employed to analyze the binding between bacteria and MNV particles, and the plaque assay was used to assess the effects of GD1a-positive and negative strains on MNV infectivity. The result from ELISA… Show more

“…Subsequently, the tubes were centrifuged for 2 min at 10,000× g. Then, the pellet was suspended in 100 µL 0.05 M NaOH and incubated at 95 • C for 15 min. After a centrifugation of 2 min at 10,000× g, the supernatant was used as DNA template [45]. Amplicons of the 16S rRNA gene were obtained with PCR using the 27-forward (5 -AGAGTTTGATCCTGGCTCAG-3 ) and 1492-reverse (5 GGTTACCTTGTTACGACTT-3 ) primer.…”

“…Entero-adenovirus (AdV) is one of the important pathogens causing infant diarrhea. Irrigation water is the most common way of foodborne transmission of AdV [ 9 ], but in recent years, AdV contamination has been detected in oyster [ 10 ] and shellfish [ 11 ].…”
