The Effect of Curing Methods on Compressive Strength of Concrete

Abstract: Concrete curing is an effort made to optimize the results of concrete casting. This action needs to be done because it has a major effect on the quality and strength of the concrete, one of which is so that the concrete does not lose moisture too quickly, because later this condition will lead to excessive shrinkage in the concrete. As a result, the concrete can experience cracks. This will cause the construction work to be less qualified and endanger construction users. The purpose of this study is to determi… Show more

“…On the other hand, it has been observed that the presence of SF limits the composition and the formation of corrosion products: the addition of SF in HSCs can be considered beneficial (Marcotte and Hansson, 2003), it can be concluded that the curing method of concrete affects the value of concrete compressive strength (Tumpu and Parung, 2021). We notice a drop in resistance of the concretes preserved in sea water at 28 days, around 3%-6% for the HSC25, 2%-4% for the HSC16 and 1%-2% for HSC8.…”

“…Beton dengan perawatan perendaman secara langsung memiliki kuat tekan yang besar. Terdapat beberapa metode dalam perawatan beton, diantaranya adalah penyiraman dengan air (watering) dan elevated temperature [8]. Penelitian ini menggunakan proporsi Accelerator tetap sebesar 3 % dari berat semen dengan waktu pengujian pada umur 7 dan 28 hari.…”

“…It operates more quickly and penetrates the surface to avoid cracking and crazing. The principal objective of this study is to examine how applying various curing agents to HPC affects its compressive strength, resistance to freeze and thaw, resistance to chloride ions, and resistance to moisture penetration [6,7] .…”
