Pandemic COVID-19 is a health problem that is spread all over the world including Indonesia. As 4 June 2020, Indonesia has reached 28,818 persons confirmed COVID-19, 1,721 deaths related to COVID-19 and 8.892 patients have recovered from the disease. The amount of response and attention of the public regarding the COVID-19 case in Indonesia and the circulation of information in the community became the basis of interest in identifying and analyzing demography factors with general knowledge on COVID-19. Participants were 1,254 collected through online questionnaire distributed on social media platform, from February 5, 2020 to June 6, 2020. Data analyzed used Chi square test with significant <0.05. The result showed that majority of respondents have good general knowledge about COVID-19 and the personal prevention towards the disease (>75%). Nonetheless, most misinformation was that COVID-19 killed everyone contracted to it, came from a biological weapon laboratory, and that covering mouth and nose with bare hand is considered as correct coughing ethic. Characteristics that showed statistical significances were education, occupation, and educational/occupational background. Although Indonesian governments already give the best effort to educate the public to stop the transmission, an extensive educational health campaign should be done to raise awareness in public about preventive knowledge and behavior of COVID-19.

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is not only being a public physical health emergency, but also affecting global mental health, as evidenced by worldwide panic purchases, independent quarantine, and social distancing. Therefore, it is important to concern how a pandemic might affect one's mental state. The aim of this review was to determine mental health status in the community during COVID-19 pandemic using the depression anxiety stress scales (DASS) self-assessment. A comprehensive and systematic literature search published from January-May 2020 through electronic databases Pubmed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar was conducted based on guidelines from Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA). This study used a self-report tool DASS to assess depression, anxiety, and stress. Seven studies with a total of 15.020 participants that were published in 2020 were included in the analysis. The characteristics that were chosen to determine the mental health status (depression, anxiety, and stress) were age, sex, level of education, and marital status. Findings from this review showed that sociodemographic characteristics (age, sex, marital status, education level) contributed to mental health status (depression, anxiety, and stress).

Konsumsi obat, suplemen kesehatan, dan obat tradisional meningkat saat pandemi Covid-19. Masyarakat dengan keluhan kesehatan lebih memilih swamedikasi daripada melakukan rawat jalan. Risiko swamedikasi perlu diimbangi dengan pengetahuan dan kemampuan masyarakat dalam memilih produk obat, suplemen kesehatan, dan obat tradisional yang aman. BPOM meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terkait keamanan obat dan makanan melalui program Komunikasi, Informasi, dan Edukasi (KIE) yang efektif. Tingkat kesadaran yang meliputi pengetahuan, sikap dan perilaku masyarakat dapat dipengaruhi oleh profil demografi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan faktor demografi terhadap tingkat efektivitas KIE saat pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner online. Sebanyak 39.398 responden dipilih melalui purposive sampling dari populasi penerima KIE BPOM di seluruh Indonesia pada periode Juni 2020 hingga Juni 2021. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji ANOVA dengan SPSS 16 pada tingkat signifikansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan indeks efektivitas KIE sebesar 92,61 (sangat efektif). Faktor demografi yaitu pekerjaan dan pendidikan memiliki pengaruh terhadap indeks efektivitas KIE saat pandemi Covid-19, namun jenis kelamin dan umur tidak memiliki pengaruh terhadap indeks efektivitas KIE. Faktor demografi juga memiliki pengaruh terhadap indeks indikator pembentuk indeks efektivitas KIE. Pekerjaan, pendidikan, dan umur berpengaruh terhadap indeks ragam media. Pekerjaan dan pendidikan juga berpengaruh terhadap indeks pemahaman, umur berpengaruh terhadap indeks manfaat, serta pekerjaan, pendidikan, dan umur berpengaruh terhadap indeks minat. Tingkat efektivitas KIE saat pandemi Covid-19 dipengaruhi oleh faktor demografi yaitu pekerjaan dan pendidikan. BPOM perlu membuat perencanaan program KIE dengan mempertimbangkan karakteristik demografi, antara lain pendidikan, pekerjaan, dan umur dari target sasaran penerima KIE agar pelaksanaan KIE dapat efektif.
