El presente artículo pretende identificar las etapas del aprendizaje basado en proyectos (ABP) vinculadas al desarrollo socioemocional, por medio de una propuesta de proyecto para estudiantes de secundaria, considerando las nuevas bases curriculares establecidas por el Ministerio de Educación de Chile. Para ello, se analizan distintas dimensiones del aprendizaje socioemocional, la metodología ABP y sus proyecciones en el sistema educacional chileno. Se acompaña lo anterior con una propuesta didáctica basada en el desarrollo de actividades bajo la metodología del ABP, orientada a estudiantes de 3º y 4º año de enseñanza secundaria, considerando asignaturas de ciencias naturales. Las nuevas bases curriculares, en transición durante el año 2020, proporcionan espacios idóneos para desarrollar no solamente contenidos, sino también formar a los y las estudiantes de manera integral, desde lo cognitivo, lo social y lo emocional.

Integral control is one of the methods for reducing steady-state error in a feedback control system. This method is frequently used in manufacturing and industrial control processes. It is an important topic in the control engineering curriculum. In this paper, we describe a laboratory station developed for the investigation of integral control. Microcontrollers were used for the implementation of the integral controllers. Five experiments were developed for that laboratory station. These experiments emphasized on the understanding of integral control, elucidating the integrator windup problems, and introducing methods for overcoming such problems. These experiments offer hands-on experience to students and will increase their insights into integral control and anti-windup methods. These experiments can be readily incorporated into laboratory courses on feedback control systems or microcontroller applications.

Examination of Academic Risk Taking Tendencies of Secondary School Students on Science Laboratory Studies

In this research, it is aimed to examinate the academic risk taking tendencies of secondary school students on science laboratory studies. In the study, the survey designs, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used. The sample of the research consisted of 408 secondary school students who continue their education in the 2019-2020 academic years. Middle School Science Laboratory Academic Risk Taking Scale was used as data collection tool. In the analysis of the data, independent groups t-test was used to examine whether the academic risk taking levels of the participants on science laboratory studies differed in terms of gender and type of school, and ANOVA was used to examine the level of class. It was found that students' risk taking levels on science laboratory studies were moderate. When the answers given to the sub-dimensions of the scale were examined, it was seen that the students' tendency to exhibit cautious risk taking behavior was the highest and the tendency to exhibit uninhibited risk taking behavior was the lowest. In addition, although there was no significant difference in terms of gender between the total scores obtained from the scale and the cautious risk taking and uninhibited risk taking dimensions of the scale, a significant difference was found in favor of male in the analytical risk taking dimension of the scale. It is recommended to create appropriate laboratory environments that allow students to experiment in individual and small groups.
