“…Because BOSCO cells have been shown to be less sensitive to decreasing bulk diffusion length compared with the other concepts, especially still supporting bifacial applications, see Section 4, scenarios of lower silicon prices of $10/kg and $5/kg are also considered. These lower cost could, for example, be realized by avoiding the gaseous phase during feedstock purification . For the routes using p ‐type mc‐Si wafers (Al‐BSF, PERC, BOSCO and mcPERT), a block‐casting crystallisation process is assumed, while for the CzPERT cells, individual ingots are pulled by the Czochralski method .…”

“…Enhancement of solar cells efficiency is the aim of many articles (Buie and Monger 2004;Pauwels and Vos 1981). Using doping atoms in absorber films is a very usual method to enhance photovoltaic (PV) power in solar cells that is used frequently in recent years (Wolf 1986;Bartel et al 2012). Most of them focused on the optical solar cell configuration, design and synthesis of the optical layers used in the PV solar cells in order to achieve more power (Bouhafs et al 1988;Rajvikram and Leoponraj 2018).Focusing on geometric optics and extra optical elements to enhance or control the solar cell efficiency could be very effective, low cost and green methods but are utilized rarely (Nfaoui and El-Hami 2018;NaichiaYeh 2016).…”

“…The mechanical strength of the c-Si substrates has an obvious effect on the breakage rate of the solar cells and PV modules during the subsequent handling and processing steps. Bartel et al showed that Fe as well as Al contamination below 0.5 ppmw in compensated silicon feedstock causes no measurable negative impacts on cell performance and its reliability [3]. Sinton reported that the solar cell efficiency can be well predicted according to carrier lifetime measurements of mc-Si brick [4].…”
