Sociometry is one of a research method for measurement and assessment of group cohesion and communications between population units. The main purpose of the study is to determine mutual choices, characteristics of the group relationships and interpersonal relationships. In handball, interpersonal relationships is important in building team structures to achieve high goals. The research information base consisted of survey data from 15 athlete from the women handball team. After analyzing these factors, we can see the group leader, group cohesion, and marginalized individuals of the team. By analyzing interpersonal relationships between team members, we can improve group cohesion that can affect team outcomes. The conclusions from applying the sociometry test is the test can help us to define preferences for the team captain or other social problems in the group we want to investigate and whether the group is united or divided.

This study is relevant because there is a need to solve pedagogical problems to ensure the cohesion of the sports team during the preparation for competitions. The aim of the study is to determine the characteristics of thegroup structure and relationshipsbetweenthe players using the university volleyball team as an example. The study was conductedin 2017-2018 at the Department of Physical Education and Sport of the Ural State University of Economics (Ekaterinburg, Russia). The information base of the research consists of the survey data from 22 students from the volleyball team. The research methodology is based on the sociometric method of structural analysis of small groups. The group cohesion index is acceptable on the basis of the "work during training"criterion, but it is very low based on the other two criteria. This observationoccurs because the interpersonal communication withinthe team is not sufficiently strong. The team did not interfere with training aimed to improve cohesion. Currently, many team members fall out of the overall communication structure. According to the "work during training" criterion, only two members of the team had a zero status. However, according to the "free time" and "interaction during the game" criteria, there were 10 and 6 such people, respectively. It is hoped that along with the development of the team, more participants will be included in group communication and belong to the average subgroup of popularity.

The present study utilises an autoethnographic research methodology for introducing, from a handball player's point of view, the culture in which her career unfolded (from the beginnings to the first few years after her retirement), and the most important characteristics that shaped her professional years in the Hungarian first league. This topic was chosen not only as sports economics considerations are important with regard to the career of a handballer, but also to highlight how an individual athlete experiences the processes occurring in such a sports culture. Moreover, this study addresses the gap in scientific literature on career management in handball. Utilising autoethnography in the field of sports is somewhat unique, therefore this study can also pave the way for future research work in this domain. The following five pillars in career management were identified as a result of the research: Significant Others, Local Grassroots, Star Position, Roller Coaster and Rebirth. This study can be valuable for future researchers in the area of career management, and it can also provide practical information for athletes, sports federations and sports businesses.
