“…Given that studies also support the notion that cultural differences may also exist in gratitude expression (Tudge, Freitas, & O'Brien, 2015;Merçon-Vargas, Poelker, & Tudge, 2018), it seems reasonable to conduct research in many different countries. It comprised of four major domains; expression of gratitude (i.e., recognition that someone has benefit you by going out of their way motivates to express gratitude towards them), value of gratitude (i.e., expression of gratitude enhances interpersonal relationships), transcendent gratitude (i.e., feeling a benefit outside of oneself such as blessings and opportunities), and spiritual connection (i.e., attribution of benefit as coming from divine which result to experience sense of connection to divine presence) (Hlava, Elfers, & Offringa, 2014).…”

“…The result is that conceptual confusion about the meaning of gratitude is rife (Carr 2013;Gulliford et al 2013;Merçon-Vargas et al 2018;Tudge and Freitas 2018). Fagley (2016) pointed out that one of the conceptual confusions is with appreciation, a much broader construct than gratitude.…”
