The Development of Simple Acoustic Reaction Time in Normal Children

Abstract: SUMMARY Normative data on the simple acoustic reaction time were obtained from 56 children without neurological or psychiatric symptoms aged between four and 14 years, and the results were compared with those for an adult reference group. Mean reaction times declined precipitously from 465msec at age five to 190msec at 15 years.
