Every learning method always has advantages and disadvantages. The combination of various methods in learning can be an appropriate strategy to complement each other so that it can provide stronger leverage for quality learning. This experimental research combines cooperative learning type Number Head Together (NHT) and Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) in order to improve mathematical literacy skills, taking into account differences in cognitive styles. This research involved 63 students as samples. The experimental class, consisting of 30 students, was taught using a combination of NHT and CTL methods (hereinafter abbreviated as NHTCTL). Meanwhile, the control class, consisting of 33 students, was taught using the NHT method without involving CTL. The instruments used are a description test to measure literacy abilities, and the Group Embeded Figures Test (GEFT) to determine students' cognitive styles. The results of the analysis of variance (anova) show that NHTCTL is very effective in improving mathematical literacy skills, both in students with FI and FD cognitive styles.

This research aimed to develop mathematic learning device by using learning cycle 5e model on straight line equation for the eight grade of junior high school students. The learning device consist of lesson plan and student’s worksheets with five stage of learning cycle namely engagement, exploration, explanation, elaboration, and evaluation. This study used Plomp’s model which consist of three phases, preliminary research, development or prototyping phase, and assesment phase. In the preliminary research conducted analysis of needs, curriculum analysis, concept analysis, and students analysis. In the prototyping phase, the learning device developed with formative evaluation. The study resulted lesson plan has very valid category with validity value 87.5% and very valid category for student’s worksheets with validity value 89.87%. Based on the result, learning devices by using model learning cycle 5e on equation of straight line are valid. Keywords – Learning Device, Learning Cycle 5E, Straight Line Equation, Plomp

This study has the objectives of (1) solving the average difference in students' problem-solving abilities, (2) testing the increase in students' problem-solving abilities. This research is included in the pre-experimental quantitative research with the one group pretest posttest design. The data in this study were analyzed using the paired sample t test which aims to test the average difference, and the n-gain score test to test the increase. The research was conducted in class V SD 5 Bae. From this study, the results obtained were (1) there were differences in students' problem-solving skills before and after the NHT model was applied with edutainment responsibility learning application media, (2) there was an increase in students' problem-solving abilities with a percentage of 52.66%.
