The development of a rapid analyzer for aluminium control in steel

Abstract: A review of the importance of controlling the aluminium content in liquid steel is made, and the various methods used for the determination of soluble aluminium are discussed. A recently developed and patented instrument, using a special electrolysis cell for rapid dissolution of the solid steel samples, and a computer‐controlled flow injection analyzer (FIA) also developed to produce results directly in % concentration, are described.
