Safety perception is the most important part of people's choice in determining tourist sites. Standing trees that are prone to falling are very dangerous for both visitors and employees. Standing tree with decay wood inside is often the cause of tree failure. Therefore, there is a need for research examining the risk of collection and non-collection trees in Bali Botanical Garden. Tree risk checks were carried out using the Tree Risk Assessment method from the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), which has been modified. The result of this research gives valuable information for the manager to determine tree handling to minimize tree risk.

Kebun Raya Eka Karya Bali memiliki beberapa koleksi pohon besar dan tua yang telah mengalami tanda-tanda kerusakan dan beresiko membahayakan keselamatan pengunjung. Pemeriksaan kesehatan pohon sangat penting untuk mencegah resiko pohon tumbang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi kesehatan pohon, serta hubungan antara kerusakan internal dan visual pohon di Kebun Raya Eka Karya Bali. Kriteria pohon sampel yaitu memiliki lingkar batang lebih dari 250 cm dan tumbuh di lokasi yang ramai aktivitas pengunjung. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari 2021-Januari 2022 di Kebun Raya Eka Karya Bali. Pemeriksaan visual pohon dengan Tree Risk Assesment Form yang dimodifikasi, sedangkan pemeriksaan internal dengan Arborsonic 3D Acoustic Tomograph. Data visual dan internal dilanjutkan dengan skoring, kemudian dilakukan uji korelasi Pearson pada hasil visual dan internal. Hasil pemeriksaan kesehatan pohon secara visual diperoleh 19% pohon beresiko tinggi, 73% pohon resiko sedang, dan 8% pohon resiko rendah. Pemeriksaan secara internal yaitu 65% pohon beresiko rendah, 27% pohon resiko sedang, dan 8% resiko tinggi. Jenis yang beresiko tinggi pada kedua hasil yaitu Prunus cerasoides pada petak XIII.B No. 17 dan petak XII.A No. 3. Kerusakan internal dan kerusakan visual pohon memiliki hubungan atau korelasi positif yang kuat dengan nilai korelasi 0,691.

The red list of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) reported Castanopsis argentea as an endangered species. Studies about autecology on its natural habitat become important to perform species conservation. This study aimed to analyze the population structure, distribution pattern, and environmental factors that influence the presence of C. argentea in the Telaga Warna Nature Reserve. Data was collected in September 2020 by making 21 plots with a single plot. The purposive sampling method was used based on C. argentea representatives to determine plot location. Measurement of environmental factors, including soil sampling was carried out on each plot. Population structure was analyzed based on plant density, and Morisita index determined the distribution pattern. Environmental data were analyzed using PCA with Minitab 19 programs. Our field observation showed that C. argentea seedling has the highest density (1071 ind/ha) and decreased in the mature phase. C. argentea was found to have a clumped distribution pattern with an Id value of 1.03. PCA analysis showed differences in environmental factors that were thought to influence the presence of C. argentea individuals in four growth phases. The highest population structure of C. argentea was found in the growth phase of seedlings and saplings at an altitude of 1400 m asl. The spread population distribution of C. argentea was clumped. The influences of environmental variables on the existence of C. argentea were Mg, Ca, CEC, pH, and soil moisture.
